Impact of Feature Interaction on the Safety Analysis for Unmanned Avionics Product Lines

چکیده
Unmanned Avionics Systems (UAS) are real-time critical embedded systems that include high-integrity requirements. Most of these systems need to be certified before use, particularly in civil airspace. To reduce development cost, some UAS software is developed as part of a Software Product Line (SPL). A product-line comprises a reference architecture and a set of reusable core assets. New systems can be derived from the product-line architecture and core assets based on a predefined process that manages and controls permitted variations, based in part on product-line features defined in a feature model. However, many features are interdependent and hence complicate the analysis of all potential feature combinations for product-line systems. In this paper we discuss the impact of feature dependencies in the safety analysis of unmanned avionics SPLs and present a preliminary model-based solution for managing the impact of these dependencies. متن کاملIdentifying Safety Dependencies in Modular Computer Systems
The aviation industry has started to adopt complex distributed computing networks (known as Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA)). IMA raises a number of new issues for syste development. Firstly, IMA is designed to use logical partitioning of data, both to provide security of access to resources and also to support incremental change of one component with limited impact on other components. Secon...
متن کاملTowards a Holistic Approach for Integrating Middleware with Software Product Lines Research
Prior research on software product lines (SPLs) in different domains (e.g., avionics mission computing, automotive, cellular phones) has focused primarily on managing the commonalities and variabilities among product variants at the level of application functionality. Despite the fact that the application-level SPL requirements drive the specializations (i.e., customizations and optimizations) ...

Due to the increasing population growth, the lack of uncontrolled land in cities, the pattern of housing production in cities has gradually changed and has expanded into residential complexes to respond to housing demand, which has The social interaction of residents has been diminishing. The public space of a high-rise residential complex, if designed appropriately for residents' gatherings, c...
متن کاملFrom Reviews to Analysis: Challenge and Opportunity Converge
The emergence of complex safety-critical systems such as integrated modular avionics challenges the limits of traditional process-based assurance methods based on what DO-178B calls “reviews.” The problem is that interaction between subsystems produces too many possible behaviors. Assurance for these cases needs support from what DO178B calls “analyses”; in particular, tool-supported calculatio...
